Useful Apps for your Paris trip

ESA faculty

Besides TripAdvisor (check out the special City Guide for Paris), Yelp, Happy Cow, Foursquare, Google Translate and other apps that you may already use when traveling, there are a number of apps out there to help you make the most of your time in Paris. Here are a few to consider (if you are bringing your smart phone with you and will have wifi access!):

Getting Around

RATP is a free app for the Paris Metro system.

Citymapper has a version for Paris. This app will give you travel times via different transportation modes (including on foot)

Toilets in Paris (Android) helps you to locate the Sanisette (free public toilets that self-sanitize) in Paris. Works offline. There's a similar (same?) app here that works on iPhone, too.

Seeing the sites

Château de Versailleshas a number of different apps available for Android and iPhone that will help you to explore this vast site. The apps are: Palace Audio Guide (for the main chateau), Gardens of Versailles and Versailles 3D (the historical evolution of the palace's architecture). Rick Steves (see below) also has a free podcast/tour of Versailles.

Rick Steves has a free podcast/tours of the Louvre, the Orsay Museum, Versailles and Historic Paris.
