European Studies Association

Dr. Tom Blair has been Director of ESA since 1977 and is currently a French faculty member at City College of San Francisco. The French government recently recognized Dr. Blair’s contributions to French education by awarding him the prestigious Palmes Académiques.

Dr. Yolanda Patterson, professor of French at California State University-Hayward, is Professor emerita of French and Women's Studies as well as President of the Simone de Beauvoir Society. Much of her scholarship has been devoted to Simone de Beauvoir.

Dr. Dominique Van Hooff, Chair of Foreign Languages Department at San Jose State University. Dr. Van Hooff has research interests in the relationship between painting and modern French literature.

Prof. Vincent Morissette, Faculty Member at Fairfield University and Sacred Heart University (Connecticut).Professor Morissette is a recipient of the California Language Teachers' Association Outstanding Teacher Award.

Dr. Terri Nelson, Chair of the World Languages & Literatures Department at California State University, San Bernardino, and received the Outstanding Teacher Award from the California Language Teachers' Association.

Prof. Rebecca Ebin has taught at several private schools and now teaches at East Los Angeles College.

Prof. Dominique Merrill, a native of Versailles, has taught at Los Angeles Valley and Pierce Colleges for over 25 years and has led groups to Paris five times.

Language instruction is also provided by the faculty of the Institut Catholique.
